Remembering 2015: A Year of Joy, Art, and Community with Toyan Gay

2015 was a year etched in love, laughter, and meaningful impact—thanks in no small part to our dedicated board member, Toyan Gay.

This photo transports us back to a sunny afternoon at our Children’s Home in Carrefour, Haiti. Toyan and his crew shared joyful moments with the children—laughing, playing games, and savoring sweet mangoes and sugar canes. That day wasn’t just about fun—it was about connection, healing, and building trust through genuine, heart-led presence.

The second photo captures another proud moment: our Annual Art Day Celebration. Toyan’s leadership shined once again as he brought the then-Mayor to witness our two-day art workshop, during which over 100 children explored creativity, expression, and identity through paint, color, and imagination. Under the banner of Art Day Celebration: A Program of Diakonos International, this event affirmed our belief that art is a powerful tool for healing and hope.

Toyan Gay continues to serve as a dedicated board member, embodying our mission to uplift, empower, and nurture the future of Haiti—one child at a time.

🖼️✨ Let’s keep building the legacy together.
