Art Day Celebration
Seeking a new path to contribute to the emotional and social well-being of vulnerable Haitian children, the founders of Diakonos International (grand-children of renowned Haïtian painter Philomé Obin) believing that art is a powerful tool for generating hope through creativity, created ADC to empower, uplift, and nurture vulnerable children through the exploration, joy and sense of accomplishment in hands-on involvement in the arts.
We bring the following artistic workshops to Haiti with talented and professional artists, from the US and abroad, in their respective fields:
“Art on Canvas”- This annual July workshop covering all aspect of painting, sketching, drawing, etc.
“Art of Movement”- Covering aspects of artistic movement, ex: choreography dance, yoga, sports, etc.
“Art in Music”- Covering aspects of music, ex: poetry/lyrics, composing, singing, instruments, etc.
“Art of Drama”-Covering aspects of drama ex: writing, acting, set building, filming, etc.
“Art in All”- Covering other arts ex: jewelry making, stitching, sewing, woodworking, etc.
Art is known to bring healing and restore hope. Our ADC program, which covers various forms of art, assists in the development of each child’s natural aptitudes while stimulating their creativity through imaginative activities.
