🌟 Celebrating the Achievements of Nick and AngĂ©lique! 🎓✹

In our small community of family in Haiti, we are overjoyed to witness the remarkable journeys of two incredible children who have flourished in our nurturing and supportive environment. Today, we proudly announce their extraordinary achievements and share their inspiring stories of resilience and success.

Nick, Maya’s son, has recently graduated from elementary school and is now ready to embark on his high school journey this fall. Despite facing health challenges that seemed insurmountable, Nick defied the odds and persevered, demonstrating incredible determination and dedication to his studies. We are immensely proud of his academic accomplishments and his unwavering spirit.

Equally deserving of celebration is Angélique, whom we were blessed to have in our care since she was a tender 4-month-old. We are thrilled to share that she has now graduated from kindergarten and is eagerly preparing to start first grade. Angelique is an intelligent and confident little girl who knows her worth and the power of her potential. We give all praise to God for the blessings she embodies.

These achievements are a testament to the transformative power of a nurturing and loving environment, coupled with the unwavering support of our community. Nick and AngĂ©lique’s success stories are not only a reflection of their determination but also a result of your continuous prayers, support, and belief in our mission.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has played a part in shaping the lives of these remarkable children. Your generosity and compassion have provided them with hope, opportunities, and the chance to realize their dreams.

As we celebrate Nick’s transition to high school and AngĂ©lique’s progression to first grade, let us give thanks to God for His blessings and for guiding us on this incredible journey. Together, we are making a difference, creating a brighter future for these young minds, and empowering them to reach for the stars.

Join us in congratulating Nick and Angelique on their outstanding achievements!🎉👏
We are filled with pride and joy as we witness their growth and transformation. May their stories inspire us all to nurture and support the dreams of every child, for they are the future we are shaping together.

September, 2018 Newsblast

We know that most of you have not heard from us for a while. But our silence is not due to inactivity, on the contrary, we have been diligently pursuing ways to stay on course with our mission to prepare our children to become the next generation of educated, productive and independent Haitien citizens.

Martine is taking time out of her active duties in the organization to focus on getting an international teacher’s license from the Orlando Montessori Institute to provide the best education possible to our children at Kominote Ti Fanmi Nou de Diakonos

Education is a child’s right. Just as providing them with food, shelter, and clothing, education is a vital component to children’s development and growth. Children, such as Angelo who graduated last Friday and is now able to work as a professional electrician, have the opportunity to take charge of their lives to become productive and independent of outside help. No more hand-downs or handouts, he is on his way to help himself and his community. In our records book, this is progress.

Well done Angelo. Congratulations, and may Yahweh continue to shine His light on you and make your way prosperous.

Thank you to his sponsor Jose Redondo for helping him reach this threshold. Thank you to our partner Airline Ambassadors International, our contributors, donors, and volunteers for believing in our work, trusting us with your hard earned money, time, energy and prayers.

NEWS FROM OUR SMALL COMMUNITY OF FAMILY

God could not have chosen a better time to provide what we have been asking for the last 9 years – TRANSPORTATION.

Thanks to our wonderful family at Valley Family Church who blessed Our Small Community with the most wonderful vehicle.

Because of this amazing blessing, we have been able to take our children to outings every other Sunday afternoon. The first Sunday we went to “Champs de Mars” to listen to music and have ice cream. Nick is now able to go to his medical appointments without stress of bad weather, and of course we are able to save money on food by shopping at the big street market in Port-au-Prince, and get other items such as charcoal from the South.

Our hearts are filled with emotions of gratitude and humility.

PREPARING FOR THIS YEAR'S CHRISTMAS

Christmas for any child is one of the most special times of the year. It is a season of love and sharing. It is a season that people go the extra mile to do extraordinary things for themselves like buying new clothes, shoes, bags etc.
The unfortunate part is that not everyone has the pleasure or joy to enjoy this festive season because of the circumstances they find themselves in.

We are hosting a holiday party entitled “Christmas Under the Stars” for our children at KTFN, and invite 30 orphans and children from distressed families an opportunity to join our Small Community of Family in Haiti as we celebrate the birth of Christ with gift sharing, delicious food and lots of goodies.

Can we count on you to help make this the best Christmas for some of the most vulnerable children in the Caribbean?

WHAT AN EXCITING SUMMER WE HAD!

THIS MONTH'S SPOTLIGHT CHILD - CHRISMINA

Chrismina is a beautiful little girl who joined our Small Community of Family in September of 2016. She is shy and loving. She is learning her colors and “abc” and is doing well.

Your sponsorship gives hope to our children. They thrive on knowing that they “belong” to someone. They will look for you every time a volunteer van arrives at the children’s home. They will call you “Manmi” or ‘Papi.” The hope that you bring to them as a sponsor is worth far more than the paper check you sign your name to every month.

2017 BACK TO SCHOOL SERVICE TRIP

So many miracles happened last month at Our Small Community of Family in Haiti.

Despite hurricanes Irma and Maria disrupted our scheduled Back to School Service Trip, our relentless volunteers saw to it that the children from Our Small Community of Family we were equipped for their 2017-2017 school year. We give praise to God for Gina and Chris, volunteers from our faithful partner Airline Ambassadors, who came down after the hurricanes to bless our children. A day after they left, our very own Manmie Cindy and Manmie Anna made sure we had enough school supplies to bless those needy children of our community and topped off their trip with ice cream and cake for everyone. We all had a blast!

SEPTEMBER 2017 NEWSLETTER

Kominoté Ti Fanmi Nou de Diakonos is a home where the children get the love, support and sense of identity found only in a loving family environment.

The month of September marked the beginning of our homeschooling program. In 2 short weeks, our 3 and 4 years old have already learned their 4 basic colors (red, blue, black and white), and Adison, at 4 years old, is a bit more advanced as he can recognize the basic colors and yellow. He also knows how to write “a” in cursive, and is now writing the letter “b”.

Angelique is our newest child at Kominote Ti Fanmi Nou. Within only days of putting up a photo of her on social media, Angelique became fully sponsored. She is a joyous child, always smiling and she hardly cries.

Our new sponsorship program is up and running, and if you haven’t sponsored one of our children yet, you are missing out on a blessing!…..

WHAT AN EXCITING SUMMER WE HAD!

Summer 2017 will forever be etched in our memory. We had so much fun starting with Art Day Celebration in Fonds des Negres, and continuing until the wedding of  Jean-Louis Delouis, our longtime and faithful Director of Logistics to the love of his life, Joane Vigne.

ARTDAY CELEBRATION 2017

This year ADC went to the countryside to a little village called “Belo” in Fonds des Negres where 70 children from the village were happy to experience the joy of art-making. This was the first time such an event was afforded to them and they were ecstatic. There was choreographed dancing, singing, painting and performing arts.

The children from Our Small Community of Family enjoyed the beauty of country living. They especially loved bathing in the stream of water that ran across the land.

WOW! What a glorious time we had. And all while gazing and admiring the beauty and picturesque mountains of the South of Haiti.

WEDDING BELLS FOR JEAN-LOUIS AND JOANE

Jean-Louis’ wedding day was like a fairytale day for everyone. The kids were so happy to get all dressed up in tuxedos, suits, evening-gala outfits and high heels.

Betsyboo was the flower girl and Rija the ring bearer. The looked so cute walking down the aisle before the bride and groom who were themselves looking pretty gorgeous.
